New Window Herb Garden and Sushi--Summer!

Memorial day is just around the corner making summer official.  It's no secret I don't have a green thumb.  Gardening is not my fav thing, though I need to learn to love it since it's a Prov 31 trait among other things.  This summer I am taking a baby step and starting a window herb garden.  I tried this a few years ago, but didn't keep it up.  This time, I will keep it up.  I have sage, chives, oregano, and basil.  This will save money, and be a lot better to cook with fresh herbs instead of dried.
I found these little pots at Walmart for one dollar.  They were so bland though, so my mom let me borrow one of her paint sets that my dad got for her, and I went to work painting the pots to match my safari theme at my place.

Final potted plants in the painted pots.
This year I've been into sushi.  When I visited the Barkei's maybe 3 years ago up in Jersey they introduced me to making homemade sushi and I love making it.
Cut up the raw fish.  I know, sounds gross, but it's one of those things that you either like or you really don't.
raw salmon, brown rice, avocado, cucumber, rice vinegar rolled up in seaweed

Makes an easy healthy dinner.

Retro Post---Sleepover Fun

Deepika Azariah, Danielle Lamberth, and I are hosting a girls teen sleepover for the teens here coming up real soon.  We are looking forward to serving the teens and having Godly, kosher fun.  We are happy that the girls want to come, and that their parents are allowing them to come.  While planning it, I thought it would be fun to pull old archived pics from when the girls were little and use to come over for sleepovers at my place every now and then.  Can't believe they are teens now!  ...so here is a retro post!
Alexa, Erica, Courtney, Breanna, Vienna, Audrey, and Jessica.
 Ansley, Eleisha, and Ashlynn
A few years older in this pic, Ashlynn, Alexa, Erica, Courtney
Ashlynn and Erica use to like to dress alike. BFF's.  :-)

Zoe never came for sleepover, a little younger, but here's a pic of her pretending to be receptionist answering the phone when her family, below, came over for a big dinner party I had at my place.  Still love this pic to this day!  #BeforeNoah

A few years later.....the girls were preteens and dress triplets....Ashlynn, Eleisha, and Ansley
...to be continued in about 1.5 weeks with the new updated teen sleepover pics.  Love these girls.  Their parents have sure brought up such lovely, true feminine, and Godly young ladies.

Candid AC Grad Pics

Not that we should have fav ppl, but I'm really fond of the AC students who graduated this year.  Some great character going on in them!
ABOVE:  Bailey Crawford shows that he "succumbed" to wearing a boutineer...aka "a manly flower."  We're both from East Texas originally, and Texan men have a hard time wearing a flower.  Bailey was shocked and not too happy at his two year grad when he found out he had to wear one, but now, at his four year grad, one of the fruits of AC is wearing a formal boutineer happily!  :-)

Justin Goodearl smiles big at his 2 year grad!  This bro classically rocks!  He's one of my unofficial adopted little brothers.
Another way cool bro, Jessie Hester, smiles big at his four year grad!
One of my classy little sisters, Ariel Buckler. smiles above, and then we took a selfie together.  I am so going to miss this gal!

Ahhh, my buddy Jamie Hawkins poses with her sister and dad.  Great family!
Tonya Wainwright smiles after her four year graduation.  This gal is so friendly.
Ahhh, Sharalee looks at her diploma.  She earned this baby!  The AC students work so hard!  They rock!
Hannah Estebat poses with the Cuencos.
Ahhh, James Brandon is all grown up officially now!
Mr. Heerma and I had another camera duel.  He won b/c I cheated and hit the "shutter button" on my phone before he counted down to three.  Oops!  Trigger happy!
Sean Davison chats with the dean after graduating.  A fellow Texan I've known since he was little.
Sam Livingston poses at his 2 year grad.  This is one exceptional brother!

Mom and I put together gifts for some of the graduates.  We wish we could have gotten them all something, but everyone knows we love them!

Catching Breanna and Dan during the processional!  Really happy Dan won one of the $500 awards as well as Chris!
 Loving Jessie's thumbs up!
Chris Eames speaks.  He's amazing and so genuine.

Nice Breakfast with Jamie's Family

Jamie Hawkins and some of her family who came to town for her big 4 year AC graduation stayed in my home.  It was nice for them to have a little family reunion.  On Sabbath morning, Jamie invited Tiffany and I to join her family for breakfast.  We had a great time at the restaurant of Jamie's choice; graduates choice.  :)  Above:  A video of of Jamie teaching her niece her ABC's.
