Latest CCoatsOfManyColours Happenings!

I designed this tie a few years ago for my Etsy shop.  This week I made a replica of it for a friend.

I also designed a ladies skirt from the same fabric.  Originally, I had put buttons at the waist, but just this week, I took the buttons out and sewed in a zipper instead.  (Buttons actually were a wardrobe malfunction.)  Not fun, but done!

...also created the above mans necktie design one year ago, but the original design snagged...soft fabric,, so I perfected my design, and vahlah, here it is.  Will be posting this in my Etsy shop.  The ladies matching scarf is also already listed in my CCoatsOfManyColours Etsy shop.

This weekend's project will be finishing the top of this formal design I started THREE YEARS ago (bottom half shown above) I left the top half unfinished.  It's so complex, but I'm not a quitter, so I will design the top part and finish!

Next Food Project!--Pic and Recipe of Melissa Brown

My long time childhood buddy that's an excellent home cook, Melissa Brown, posted a pic (shown above) of a dinner she made for her fam on Twitter, and it looks so delicious that I am going to try it myself, and it's definitely blog worthy!  Hopefully my attempt at her recipe will look as yummy as hers did!

Delicious Brunch at Ms. Wood's!

My brother, sister in law, Breanna L., Callum W (shown above), Brent (below) and Michelle N., and Ms. S. Crocker enjoyed a nice Sabbath brunch fit for kings and queens at Ms. M. Wood's house this weekend.  The food and company was fantastic!  Thanks again, Ms. Wood (and Michelle) for cooking for, and serving us!

Michelle and Ms Wood smile for my camera.
I love it!...mother in law and daughter in law.  Great family!

Love this idea of everyone make your own breakfast fruit, yogurt, granola mix.

Totally impressed with Michelle's proper etiquette skills of knowing that when you place a plate in front of someone, you always turn the meat towards them.  Most get the raise from the right, and lower from the left service, but ahhhh...the meat part gets forgotten.  My food pet peeve!  ha, ha!  Proper etiquette seems to be a hot subject this week, so I had to throw in my two cents.  :-)  Go Michelle for doing it right!  :-)  Yummy egg casserole by Ms. Wood!

Brent serves the breakfast pineapple cake for his mom.

The below pic has nothing to do with our brunch, but I went out to dinner with my family, and ordered delicious chili made with brisket at a rib joint.  Yes, the cheese made me feel somewhat icky (lactose intolerant), but it was worth it!  Yummy!  Yes, I will always love taking pics of food as long as I'm human! :-)

Friends with Pure Attitudes of Service!

Conner and Melinda Brown have been such a blessing in my life!  Most know that we, Conner and Melinda, were all childhood friends back in Big Sandy, Texas at the old AC campus as little kids since like age 6, and then as young teens we all came into the PCG around the same time, so it's really amazing that we're still friends now in our early 30's all working at AC in Edmond, OK.
Anyway, about this post.....this is my year of everything breaking...seriously, my central heat went out in the middle of the night recently....brrrr!  Conner and Melinda, and their son Alec came over and rescued me.  Conner, who btw wins the award of most valuable handy man friend, fixed my central heat!  I'm so impressed not only with his true manhood fixing ability and skills, but with his continued true attitude of service towards not just me since we've known each other practically all of our lives, but he and his family are like that to everyone.  We always pay him something, as we never take advantage of anyone, but what an attitude!  Thanks, also, to my dad, for always looking out for me recently...such as calling Conner when he knew I wouldn't.  I don't like disturbing people to help me.  Guess I am being humbled in that area.  THANKS AGAIN!
This is the hub of the heating system in my house....kinda of scary looking!  :-)

Behind every great man is a great woman....Melinda!

Last, but not least....our entertainment was their lovely son, Alec, cuddling with my life sized panther.

Favorite Quote of the Week!

"A good royal leader lives to serve, and works everyday to better themselves so that they can serve better."

My latest project in the making

Started what I call a "mock quilt" today.  Not sewn, just piecing the design together.  I'm using fleece, so it's not a real quilt, but I'm designing this fleece blanket to look like a quilt using old leftover fleece scraps from previous projects that have been buried in my sewing closet.  It's like putting a puzzle together!

Fun Music Videos from 2 Years Ago!--Need to stop neglecting my instruments!

With my car in the shop getting a new engine put in, that means I'm stuck at home this weekend!  My piano and flute are so neglected, so this week I will try to "W-D40" some of "the rust" from my playing skills among sewing and updating my Etsy CCoatsOfManyColours Shop.
This is a post of videos shot 2 years ago.  ABOVE is me "rocking out" to the children's song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.  Ummmm....I see why I have friends....I'm kinda entertaining looking very "passionate" when I play.  You have to watch all of the videos for yourself.  WOW!  I get into it!

Playing my flute!  My fav instrument to play!
Rocking out to the song from Carmen!

Playing "The Chase"
I really move and sway while playing!

My all time favorite video practicing the piano song "Tarantella!"  I earn the title of most dramatic piano player of the year on this one!  I play this song like I live life...way crazily fast...need to slow it down!  ha, ha!

This song called Alla Tarantella, a different Tarantella, needs a lot of work.  This song will be my project this week!  I'm so fast on the keys...too fast!  Need to slow down to perfect!  Playing the piano reveals my personality...too fast...need to slow down to perfect!  :-)!

My Car Drama

PHOTO of my brother and Jason H. hooking up tow line to my car.
For the first time in 5 weeks and 5 days to be exact, I was "reunited" with my car!  Long story short....I put my car in the car shop.....mechanic shop owner went out of town...wouldn't answer his phone or messages...gate locked to car shop, so couldn't get to my car to move it.......finally after 4 weeks mechanic answered...told me he had been gone......said he would fix my car that Friday and it would be ready in two days.....well....that time came and left and car not fixed.....mechanic back to not answering the phone...gate locked to his shop.....a few men called for me on my behalf and still no answer......almost 2 more weeks went by....finally my bro and Jason H. called the Sheriff to see if we could do a force entry into shop to get my car so that it could be towed to another shop.....sheriff told us to contact lawyer...major drama over a car.  Finally, this afternoon, my bro and Jason H. went to car shop and the gate was open for the first time in almost 6 weeks....weird car shop...I know.....a young man was there and he was clueless but my car was untouched and hadn't been worked on...mechanic was no where to be found....so we hooked up my car to Jason H's. truck, my bro drove my car in tow w/hazard lights...and I drove my bro's truck, and we towed my car to another car shop.  ...so my car is back in the shop, but I don't think it will be in the shop for another 6 weeks.  I have a feeling this time this mechanic will at least look at it.  ha, ha!  All I did was put my car in the shop when it wouldn't crank, and it turned into the big broadway drama.  Pics of the "repossession" of my car back to me, to take to another shop is below.

my car in tow behind Jason H'.s truck arrived at another car shop.
